Shen · Spirit · Hypnosis, Trance & Meditation
Change the story underneath.
Hypnosis, trance and meditation work directly with the deeper mind, where your habits, fears and beliefs actually live. It's natural, it's pleasant, and you're in charge the whole time.
Shen · spirit & mind
What hypnosis actually is.
Forget the stage show. Hypnosis is a natural, focused state you already slip into every day: when you're absorbed in a book, lost in music, or driving home on autopilot. In that state the critical, chattering part of the mind steps back, and the deeper mind becomes open to new ideas.
Think of the mind like a computer. It's been programmed, and it can be reprogrammed. Beliefs are just thoughts we keep thinking. In trance we can update the ones that aren't serving you, in a way that's guided by your own inner wisdom rather than by me.
Anyone willing to be hypnotised can be. You stay aware and in control, and you can't be made to do anything you don't want to. Most people describe it simply as deeply, unusually relaxing.
Where it helps
Quiet the noise. Turn up the signal.
- Confidence and self-worth
- Performance anxiety, in bed and out of it
- Breaking habits that have a hold on you
- Stress, overthinking and trouble switching off
- Shame and old inner conflicts
- Deep relaxation and better sleep
- Rehearsing the man you're becoming
- Pleasure, desire and arousal
Yes, erotic hypnosis is a thing.
Your mind is your biggest sex organ. Erotic hypnosis uses trance and guided imagery to lower inhibition, ease anxiety, heighten sensitivity and expand your capacity for pleasure. It's fascinating, and frankly a lot of fun. Every session is built around your goals and your boundaries.
Meditation
Spirit is a faculty. It can be trained.
I see spirituality as a sense, like sight or hearing: that feeling of rightness, of connection to something bigger. Think of the sunrise from a mountaintop, the birth of a child, true love. When we lose touch with it, we feel hopeless and unworthy. When we tend it, we find a reservoir of wellbeing we can draw from.
I was a Transcendental Meditation practitioner for ten years before Qi Gong. These days I practise the Taoist microcosmic orbit meditation, which is grounded and embodied rather than "out of body." I teach practical, no-fluff meditation: something you can actually keep doing.
