Qi · Breath · Qi Gong

Slow down. Fill the tank.

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice of breath, movement and focused attention. It's a workout for your nervous system and a meditation you can do standing up.

Qi · breath & life force

What is Qi Gong?

Qi means breath, energy, life force. Gong means skill cultivated through steady practice. Put together, Qi Gong is the skill of working with your own energy: slow, deliberate movement, coordinated with the breath and a calm, focused mind.

It looks gentle, and it is. It's also surprisingly powerful. Practised regularly, Qi Gong is one of the best self-regulation tools I know. It settles a wired nervous system, wakes up a flat one, and teaches you to feel what's happening inside you.

For men in particular, this is the missing piece. We're very good at revving up and very bad at coming down. Qi Gong trains both directions, and that changes everything from sleep and focus to sex.

The lineage

White Tiger Medical Qi Gong.

I started practising in 2006 in Victoria, in the Kong Jing style taught by Master Hing Cheung. I felt a deep peace and joy after those first sessions, and I've practised ever since.

Later I travelled to Tao Garden in Thailand three times for intensive three-week teacher trainings with Master Tevia Feng, founder of the White Tiger School of Medical Qi Gong. His system draws on Hua Tuo's Five Animal forms, Five Element theory and Ba Gua, and integrates modern sports science. It's a rare bridge between East and West, philosophy and physiology.

Qi Gong has become my best self-healing tool, a potent spiritual practice, and, on a good day, an art form.

What practice gives you

  • A calmer, steadier nervous system, on demand
  • Better sleep and more stable energy through the day
  • Breath that serves you under pressure
  • Stronger, more supple joints and spine
  • Sexual vitality that's cultivated, not spent
  • A daily ritual that's yours, needing ten minutes and no equipment

Qi Gong runs through both one-to-one coaching and the men's circles, where we practise together.

Start with a conversation.

A free, no-pressure call of up to 30 minutes. You tell me what's going on, I tell you honestly whether I can help, and we both get a feel for working together.
