Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jes Browning ("I", "me", "my") collects, uses, stores and protects personal information through this website (jesbrowning.com) and through coaching services. I'm based in British Columbia, Canada, and I handle personal information in line with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
The short version: I collect only what I need to respond to you and to work with you, I keep it confidential, I never sell it, and you can ask me to see, correct or delete it at any time.
1. Information I collect
Information you give me
- Intro call requests: your name, email, optional phone number, your preferences, best times to reach you, and anything you choose to write about what brings you here.
- Email list and free practice: your first name and email address.
- Men's circle interest list: your name, email, preferred format, and any optional message.
- Clients: if we work together, I may also collect intake and consent information, session notes, scheduling details and payment records.
Information collected automatically
This site does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. Like nearly all websites, the hosting provider automatically processes basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site securely and to prevent abuse.
2. How I use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange your free intro call
- To send you the free practice and, if you've signed up, occasional emails from the practice
- To let you know about upcoming men's circles you've asked to hear about
- To provide coaching, schedule sessions, keep appropriate records, and take payment
- To keep the website secure and working properly
- To meet legal, tax and professional obligations
I won't use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.
3. Email communication and consent
I send newsletters and practice emails only to people who have asked for them, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time by using it or by contacting me.
4. Confidentiality of coaching
What you share in coaching and in circles is treated as confidential. I won't disclose it to anyone without your consent, except where the law requires it, or where I believe there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or someone else.
5. Who I share information with
I don't sell, rent or trade personal information. I share it only with trusted service providers that help me run the practice, and only as much as they need:
- Website hosting and form handling: Netlify, Inc.
- Email delivery: my email newsletter provider, if you join the list
- Scheduling: Cal.com, if you book a call or session (its booking calendar is embedded on this site)
- Payments: Stripe, if you pay for a session. I never see or store your card details.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. By using this site and its forms, you consent to this transfer. I choose providers that use reasonable security safeguards.
6. How long I keep it
I keep enquiry and form information only as long as needed to respond to you and follow up. Email list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Client records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary for the services provided and to meet legal and tax requirements, then securely deleted.
7. How I protect it
I use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, reputable service providers, password-protected accounts, and limiting access to me alone. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take your privacy seriously.
8. Your rights
You can ask to:
- see the personal information I hold about you
- correct anything that's inaccurate
- withdraw your consent, or have your information deleted (subject to any legal record-keeping requirements)
To make a request or ask a question about privacy, contact me through the contact form. I'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
9. Age
This site and my services are intended for adults 18 and older. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
